HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION

    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the Oak Hill High School girls' swimming and diving team for its 100th consecutive dual or triple meet victory.

    Whereas, On Thursday, January 6, 2000, the Oak Hill girls' swimming and diving team won its dual meet with a 128-58 win over Marion at the Oak Hill natatorium;

    Whereas, The Golden Eagles streak began with a 117-68 victory over Carroll on October 8, 1992;

    Whereas, The Oak Hill teams from the classes of 1993 through 1999 returned to the Grant County school in anticipation of the celebration of the 100th win;

    Whereas, Winning coach Mark Yordy steadfastly refused credit for this remarkable string of victories, stating at the celebration that he is only one small part of the long-time team effort;

    Whereas, Yordy's team heartily disagrees, saying they just don't want to “disappoint Mr. Yordy,” while throwing him into the swimming pool in celebration; and

    Whereas, The Oak Hill High School student athletes and their coach personify a striving for excellence over a nine-year period that is an inspiration for all Indiana students, coaches, and parents; Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly hereby congratulates the Oak Hill High School girls' swimming and diving team, the Golden Eagles, for its 100th consecutive dual or triple swimming meet victory.

    SECTION 2. The Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Oak Hill High School.
