A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
education.
SECTION 1.
IC 20-9.1-5-21.5
IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000]: Sec. 21.5. (a) School bus emergency
escape exits, doors, windows, roof exits, and service doors shall be
maintained free of any obstruction that:
(1) inhibits or obstructs an exit; or
(2) renders the means of exit hazardous.
(b) A:
(1) school bus driver who violates this section; or
(2) person who directs a violation of this section;
is subject to the penalties provided in section 22 of this chapter.
