A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning natural and cultural resources.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) As used in this
SECTION, "animal" has the meaning set forth in
IC 14-8-2-7.
(b) As used in this SECTION, "exotic mammal" has the
meaning set forth in
IC 14-8-2-87.
(c) As used in this SECTION, "wild animal" has the meaning set
forth in
IC 14-8-2-318
(1).
(d) In the 2000 and 2001 interim periods between sessions of the
general assembly, the natural resources study committee
established by
IC 2-5-5-1
shall study the sale, ownership, and
possession in Indiana of wild animals, including exotic mammals.
The study shall include, but is not limited to, the following matters:
(1) Current statutes and rules.
(2) Administration and enforcement of current statutes and
rules.
(3) Discovery and analysis of issues and problem areas.
(4) Suggestions for improvement in current statutes, rules,
and practices.
(e) This SECTION expires December 31, 2001.
