DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL

Possession of ammunition. Requires a court to sentence a person who is convicted of carrying a handgun without a license in the person's possession to a certain additional fixed term of imprisonment if the state proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the person committed the offense while in possession of ammunition for the handgun. Requires the court to sentence the person to an additional fixed term of six months for each round of ammunition that the person possesses.
