Division of interscholastic athletics. Creates a division of interscholastic athletics within the department of education. Provides that the division is governed by a 10 member board, with a member appointed by the state superintendent of public instruction from each congressional district. Provides that the board regulates, supervises, and administers all interscholastic athletic programs. Allows the board to enter into agreements with nonpublic schools for participation in interscholastic athletic programs. Allows the board to hire a director and necessary staff. Provides that a school corporation may participate in interscholastic athletics that are governed by the board. Makes transitional provisions. |
