  | DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL Professional engineers. Allows an applicant for registration as a professional engineer who fails the first examination to request to be readmitted to any of the next three examinations. (Current law allows an applicant to request to be readmitted to either of the next two examinations.) Allows the state board of registration for professional engineers to allow an applicant who misses an originally scheduled examination or the next three examinations to appear for another examination. (Current law provides that an applicant may be allowed to take another examination after missing the original examination or the next two examinations.) Allows the board to approve subsequent examinations for an applicant who fails three or more examinations and who submits evidence of acquiring additional knowledge for the examination. (Current law allows an applicant who fails two or more examinations to reapply for the examination.) Requires an applicant to complete the registration requirements for professional engineers in a specified order. Provides that the board may issue a license by reciprocity to an out-of-state professional engineer if the other jurisdiction's registration requirements: (1) do not conflict with Indiana's requirements; and (2) include certain specified requirements. |
