MR. SPEAKER:
    Your Committee on       Public Health     , to which was referred       House Bill 2099     , has had the same under consideration and begs leave to report the same back to the House with the recommendation that said bill be amended as follows:

    Delete the title and insert the following:
    A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning welfare.
    Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:

SOURCE: ; (01)AM209901.1. -->     SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) Before July 1, 2002, the division of family and children shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to require each child who is less than eighteen (18) years of age and who resides in a family that receives monthly cash assistance payments through the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program to receive the immunizations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics unless the parent or other adult caretaker relative:
        (1) refuses to have the child immunized because of religious beliefs; or
        (2) provides documented medical evidence from a licensed physician that the immunization is not available or

appropriate for the child.
    (b) This SECTION expires July 1, 2002.
