HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



     A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Evansville North High School Men's Golf Team (the "Huskies")for winning the 2000 IHSAA State Championship.

     Whereas, the North High School Huskies won the first boys' state golf tournament title in Evansville history with a final- round 305;

    Whereas, this championship is the Huskies second state championship in a team sport;

    Whereas, the Huskies fired a 36-hole total of 608. Their score was nine strokes better than second-place Carmel;

    Whereas, the Huskies championship score is the fifth-lowest score in the 64-year history of the state tournament and it is also the second lowest score at the tourney since they started playing at Prestwick Country Club in 1987;

    Whereas, the Huskies defended their No. 1 ranking, remaining unbeaten throughout the season;

    Whereas, the Huskies' score was the state's best score in the regional for the second year in a row;

    Whereas, the team members are as follows: Alex Abbott, Mike Birkenfeld, Kyle Brinker, Nick Dus, Adam Gann, Blair Hanni, Jason Jones, Dan Neumann, Jeff Overton, Jonathan

Scully, Zachary Smith and coach, Larry Tindle; and

    Whereas, everyone on the team played consistently; Therefore:

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors the North High School Men's Golf Team for winning the 2000 IHSAA State Championship.

    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the Indiana House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to coach Larry Tindle and team members Alex Abbott, Mike Birkenfeld, Kyle Brinker, Nick Dus, Adam Gann, Blair Hanni, Jason Jones, Dan Neumann, Jeff Overton, Jonathan Scully and Zachary Smith and also the principal of Evansville North High School.
