A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging the establishment of a
commission to study technology and talent retention.
Whereas, A two year study commission should be
established to study the benefits of a school to career
program and a tax credit for wages paid to a participant in
this program;
Whereas, Some of the options that the commission may
study include ways in which Indiana may improve its
competitive position in the recruitment of new economy
businesses in the areas of advanced manufacturing,
biotechnology and life sciences, information technology,
manufacturing technology, and polymers and material
sciences;
Whereas, The commission may also study the
infrastructure needs that will help the growth of new
economy companies and jobs in Indiana, and the necessary
steps and the avenues for retaining and regaining human
talent in Indiana that will support the growth of high
technology companies and raise the standard of living and
earning capacity of the residents of Indiana: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the legislative council is urged to establish a
commission to study technology and talent retention.
SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall operate under
the direction of the legislative council and that the committee shall
issue a final report when directed to do so by the council.
