HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Tri-Town Pee Wees, Schererville, Indiana, for advancing to the final game of the Pop Warner Little Scholars Super Bowl at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

    Whereas, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. consists of more than 350,000 young people C 230,000 football players and 120,000 cheerleaders and dancers C ranging from 5 to 15 years of age;

    Whereas, The league contains 42 teams divided into five divisions by size and age;

    Whereas, These 42 teams progress through regional qualifiers to advance to the Super Bowl;

    Whereas, The Tri-Town Pee Wees were one of the final two teams when the last game of postseason play was whistled into action at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida;

    Whereas, The Pee Wees are the first Indiana team to win a Super Bowl berth, although in 1977, a team from Gary, Indiana, was a participant due to the default of another team;

    Whereas, The Tri-Town Pee Wees were confident and prepared for their final game, having outscored their opponents 135-6 in postseason play;


    Whereas, The Pee Wees' road to Orlando was marked by exemplary play by the young athletes;

    Whereas, During all eight games of the regular season, the Tri-Town Pee Wees invoked the slaughter rule, stating that a team winning by a minimum of 25 points is automatically declared the winner;

    Whereas, The Pee Wees won their third straight state title by defeating Portage 22-0;

    Whereas, Their next step on the road to the Super Bowl was the first round of the regional championship, where the Pee Wees won all three games by outscoring their opponents 77-0;

    Whereas, At the Mid-America regional championship, the Pee Wees defeated the Naperville Redskins 20-6, earning them a trip to Walt Disney World;

    Whereas, In Florida, the Pee Wees continued their winning way by defeating the Tuscon, Arizona, Broncos 38-0 in the Super Bowl semifinals; and

    Whereas, The effort put forth by the members of the Tri-Town Pee Wees and their coaches is an example to all that through hard work and determination, all goals can be achieved: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly wishes to congratulate the Tri-Town Pee Wees for an exceptional season and to wish them continued success in the years to come.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to team members Adam Getch, James DeHaan, Jr., Ryan Rich, Robert Zehme, Christopher Skinner, Adam Gard, Kyle Kapitan, Sean Duncan, Brandon Bork, Daniel Lynch, Devin Sanders, Anthony Morang, Bradon Baumgarten, Matthew Ryan, Michael Besse, Nicholas Hladek,

Kevin Doyle, Joshua West, Paul Gbur, Joseph Cedano, Ryan Thomas, Michael Puskar, Adam Shingle, Cory Majka, and Coach Tim Arvanitis.
