A RESOLUTION honoring Captain Lori Ann Turpin,
Nurse Corps, U.S. Navy, on the occasion of her retirement.
Whereas, On June 8, 2001, Captain Lori Ann Turpin will
retire from the Nurse Corps of the U.S. Navy;
Whereas, Captain Turpin has served the Navy and her
country honorably throughout the United States and overseas;
Whereas, Captain Turpin has displayed great skill and
dedication in caring for her patients and in the administration
of her duties;
Whereas, Captain Turpin's career was a continuous upward progression through 12 duty stations, including three
overseas assignments and numerous non-traditional positions;
Whereas, Captain Turpin is familiar with the legislative
process, having served as an assistant to Senator Daniel K.
Inouye, the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Defense,
a subcommittee of the United States Senate Committee on
Appropriations; and
Whereas, It is through the efforts of military personnel like
Captain Lori Ann Turpin that the United States of America
remains a safe and secure place in which to live: Therefore,
