A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the efforts of Anitra
Donahue in designing the logo for Indiana Freedom Trails.
Whereas, Anitra Donahue grew up in Evansville, Indiana;
Whereas, As a high school student, Anitra enjoyed art and
the theater;
Whereas, Upon graduation from high school, Anitra moved
to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend Herron School of Art at
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI),
where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in August
1998;
Whereas, Since graduation from Herron School of Art,
Anitra has created works for both public and private
patrons;
Whereas, She is also involved with the Freetown Village
1870, a living history museum dedicated to educating people
of all ages about African-American life in post-Civil War
Indiana;
Whereas, Anitra found creating the logo for Indiana
Freedom Trails very challenging, a challenge that she more
than met; and
Whereas, Anitra's talent and compassion for the African-Americans seeking freedom from bondage can readily be seen in Indiana Freedom Trails' logo: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly wishes to thank
Anitra Donahue for the time and effort she put forth in designing the
logo for Indiana Freedom Trails and to commend her on her fine work.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Anitra Donahue
and the Indiana Freedom Trails organization.
