Synopsis: State long term care ombudsman. Appropriates $2,438,000 beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, and $2,438,000 beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, to the division of disability, aging, and rehabilitative services from the state general fund for funding of the state long term care ombudsman program.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning human services and to make an appropriation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2001] (a) There is appropriated to the division of disability, aging, and rehabilitative services established by IC 12-9-1-1 from the state general fund the following amounts:
        (1) Two million four hundred thirty-eight thousand dollars ($2,438,000) beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002.
        (2) Two million four hundred thirty-eight thousand dollars ($2,438,000) beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003.
    (b) The division shall use the funds appropriated under subsection (a) for the purpose of funding the state long term care ombudsman program established under IC 12-10-13.
    (c) The funds appropriated under subsection (a):
        (1) do not revert to the state general fund at the end of any state fiscal year; and
        (2) are in addition to any other funds appropriated to the state long term care ombudsman program.
    (d) This SECTION expires July 1, 2003.
