    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning courts and court officers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. IC 33-19-6-18 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2001]: Sec. 18. (a) In each civil action in which a jury is empaneled, the clerk shall collect a jury fee of twenty-five dollars ($25).
    (b) The fee collected under this section shall be deposited into the county user fee fund established by IC 33-19-8-5.

    SECTION 2. IC 33-19-8-9 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2001]: Sec. 9. (a) This section applies to jury fees collected under IC 33-19-6-18.
    (b) Whenever a clerk certifies to the county fiscal body the amount of fees collected, the county fiscal body shall direct the county auditor to transfer the amount certified from the county user fee fund established by IC 33-19-8-5 to the community transition fund established by IC 11-12-10-3 for the county.
