HOUSE BILL No. 1312



    A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning natural and cultural resources and to make an appropriation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: ; (01)IN1312.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2001] (a) In addition to any other money that may be appropriated to the department of natural resources, division of law enforcement, the following is appropriated to the department of natural resources, division of law enforcement:
        (1) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, two hundred eleven thousand seven hundred seventy-four dollars ($211,774).
        (2) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, two hundred nine thousand twenty-one dollars ($209,021).
    (b) The money appropriated under subsection (a) shall be used by the department of natural resources, division of law enforcement, to hire and compensate five (5) additional conservation officers and one (1) additional first sergeant who are to be assigned, in addition to any conservation officers or first sergeants already assigned as of July 1, 2001, to the following

areas:
        (1) Two (2) conservation officers in Clark County.
        (2) One (1) conservation officer in Scott County.
        (3) One (1) conservation officer in Washington County.
        (4) One (1) conservation officer in Orange County.
        (5) One (1) first sergeant for operational district 8 to provide field supervision and administrative duties.
The five (5) conservation officers' and one (1) first sergeant's salaries, costs of providing fringe benefits, and indirect costs shall be paid from the money appropriated under subsection (a).
    (c) This SECTION expires July 1, 2003.
