HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION to congratulate Western High School Girls Golf Team for winning the IHSAA 2001 Girls Golf State Finals.

    Whereas, Western High School Girls Golf Team was the top-ranked team of 2001;

    Whereas, Western High School Girls Golf Team was undefeated in the 2001 season;
    
    Whereas, Western High School Girls Golf Team won the 29th Annual IHSAA Golf State Championship over Martinsville High School by 16 strokes, breaking Martinsville's six year title streak;

    Whereas, five Western players advanced to the second round of the tournament- juniors Lynnsey Showers, Kylene Pulley, and Kelly Maden, and freshmen Amber Lindgren and Lauren Showers;

    Whereas, Western had three players below 80 strokes in the second round of play, finishing with a total score of 629, which is the third lowest score in tournament history;

    Whereas, this was the first State Championship ever in any sport for Western High School; and,

    Whereas, the Western High School Girls Golf Team

includes: Coach Steve Hoppes; juniors Kylene Pulley, Lynnsey Showers, and Kelly Maden; sophomore Stephanie Hoppes; and freshmen Amber Lindgren, Lauren Showers, Sujanta Dwadasi, and Tracy Todd; Therefore,


    

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Western High School Girls Golf Team on their undefeated season and the IHSAA Girls Golf State Championship.

    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Western High School and each member of the team.
