A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning

SECTION 1, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
JULY 1, 2002]: Sec. 6. A school corporation may participate in an
association or in an athletic event conducted, organized, sanctioned, or
sponsored by an association only if the association does the following:
Complies with this chapter.
(2) Has a rule that does the following:
(A) Prohibits persons from having animals other than:
(i) guide dogs (IC 16-32-3-2); or
(ii) law enforcement animals (IC 35-46-3-4.5);
at an athletic event that the association conducts,
organizes, sanctions, or sponsors.
(B) Provides, in the case of noncompliance with the rule
described in clause (A) and if the event is hosted by a
school, for the forfeiture of the athletic event by the school
hosting the event.
