Synopsis: Procurement of banking services. Provides that the office
of the treasurer of state is the purchasing agency for banking services
for the state. Requires the treasurer of state to use the purchasing power
of the state to limit the amount of fees the state pays for banking
services. Provides that the statute covering purchasing of services
applies to the purchasing of banking services for the state.
Effective: July 1, 2003.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning state
offices and administration.
SECTION 1.
IC 5-13-10.5-1.5
IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA
CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2003]: Sec. 1.5. (a) In making investments of
funds under this article, the treasurer of state shall use the
purchasing power of the state to limit the amount of fees the state
pays for banking services.

AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
1, 2003]: Sec. 9. (a) The office of the treasurer of state is the
purchasing agency for banking services for the state.
(b) The treasurer of state and the individuals designated by the
treasurer of state are the purchasing agents for banking services
for the state.
