Synopsis: Required hepatitis B vaccinations in college. Requires a
full-time student who matriculates after July 15, 2003, at a residential
campus of a public college or university to show proof that the student
has been vaccinated for hepatitis B.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
, AS AMENDED BY P.L.152-2002,
SECTION 2, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE
JULY 1, 2003]: Sec. 11. (a) Except as provided in section 15 of this
chapter, a postsecondary institution may not permit a student to
matriculate in a residential campus of a postsecondary institution
unless the student provides the documentation required by section 12
of this chapter for the following diseases:
(6) Hepatitis B.
(b) Each postsecondary institution shall notify each student before the student's matriculation of the following requirements:
(1) That the student must be immunized and that the immunization is required for matriculation at the postsecondary
institution unless the student provides the documentation required
by section 12 of this chapter.
(2) That the student or the student's parent or guardian must comply with section 13.5 of this chapter.
SECTION 2. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2003] (a) The requirement to provide proof of hepatitis B vaccination under IC 20-12-71-11 , as amended by this act, applies only to a student who matriculates at a postsecondary institution after July 15, 2003.
(b) This SECTION expires July 16, 2003.
