MR. PRESIDENT:

    I move that Senate Bill 405 be amended to read as follows:

    Page 3, line 18, delete " fifty (50)" and insert " thirty-one (31)".
    Page 3, line 25, after " has" insert " provided to the purchaser or transferor, at the time of sale or transfer, a copy of a record from the bureau that discloses the status of the title and the existence of liens whether private or public and has".
    Page 4, line 1, delete " thirty".
                         Page 4, line 1, delete “ (30)” and insert “ twenty-one (21)”.
Page 4, delete lines 2 and 3.
Page 4, line 4, delete “ satisfy a lien that is indicated on a certificate of title.”.
Page 4, line 22, strike “timely”.
Page 4, line 22, after “title” insert “ within thirty-one (31) days after the sale or transfer”.
Page 4, line 23, strike “timely”.
Page 4, line 24, after “title” insert “ within twenty-one (21) days after receipt of payment to satisfy a lien on the vehicle”.
Page 4, line 27, after “ .”, insert “ To recover for these damages, the dealer must have transmitted the lien payment within two (2) days after the sale or transfer.
Page 5, line 4, strike “IC 9-23-1 and insert “ IC 9-23-2”.
Page 5, line 7, after “purchaser” insert “ because of lien(s) held by____________________, _________________________ and _____________________________________”.
Page 5, line24, before “ If”, insert “ , At the time of sale or transfer, the vehicle dealer must provide you with either a valid certificate of title or a copy of the Bureau of Motor Vehicle record disclosing the status of the vehicle's title and the existence of liens whether private or public on the vehicle. If the dealer provides you

with the copy of the record, the dealer has until thirty-one days after the purchase or transfer to deliver the title to you.”.

Page 10, line 4, delete “ An interim license plate issued under this section may be”.
Page 10, delete lines 4 through 8.
