No. 21



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging the general assembly to adopt legislation to prohibit the private sale and use of all nonapproved fireworks.

    Whereas, The Indiana Firefighters Association, Inc. (IFA) is dedicated to promoting the prevention of property loss and the loss of lives;

    Whereas, The IFA is dedicated to preventing personal injury and death resulting from the private use of nonapproved fireworks; and

    Whereas, Reports in Indiana indicate that an alarming number of injuries result from the private use of fireworks: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives concurring:



    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly is urged to amend IC 22-11-14 to prohibit the private sale and use of all nonapproved fireworks.
    SECTION 2. That copies of this resolution be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to the members of the Indiana Firefighters Association, Inc.
