SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the Wapahani High School Girl's Volleyball Team for their outstanding accomplishment in the 2002 IHSAA Class 1A Girl's State Volleyball Championship.

    Whereas, the No. 2 Wapahani High School Raiders (35- 6) defeated No. 1 three-time defending champion Michigan City High School Marquette at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse 21-18, 21-12, 21-14on November 9, 2002; and

    Whereas, this was the first state title for Wapahani High School Raiders in any sport; and

    Whereas, the Wapahani High School Raiders Girl's Volleyball team was led by Coach Mike Lingenfelter, Assistant Coach Terry Bales, Alan Davis, Junior Varsity, Stewart Peck, Freshmen, Manager, Kent Hughes, team members were Jericka Hensley, Maren Crabtree, Emily Schmidt, Brook Stillwagon, Danielle Hazelbaker, Jessica Vester, Andrea Shockley, Christy McConnell, Ashley Hughes, Miranda Undem, Kristen Carter, Erica Slusher, Allison Shaw and Katelyn Seagrave.

    Whereas, team member, Christy McConnell, was a recipient of the IHSAA Volleyball Mental Attitude Award for the 2002-03 season.



Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the General Assembly of the State of Indiana honor the Wapahani High School Raiders Girl's Volleyball Team for its accomplishment in winning the 2002 IHSAA Class 1A Girl's State Volleyball Championship and extend its congratulations to team members, coaches, and to the school.

    SECTION 2. That the General Assembly expresses its support of and best wishes to the Wapahani High School Raiders Girl's Volleyball team as they prepare for the next year.

    SECTION 3. That a copy of this resolution be sent to each team member, Coach Mike Lingenfilter, Varsity Assistants, Terry Bales, Stewart Peck, and Alan Davis, Principal Bryan Rausch and Superintendent James Craig.
