I move that Senate Bill 395 be amended to read as follows:
Page 2, between lines 14 and 15, begin a new paragraph and insert:
"Section 3. IC 9-14-2-6.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE]: Sec. 6.5. (a) The bureau may seize any document or material from an individual who submits a document or material to a bureau employee in an attempt to obtain a license, permit, or identification if the bureau employee has an articulable suspicion that the document or material are fraudulent or submitted fraudulently.
(b) The bureau shall adopt rules by which an individual may petition for the return of the seized document or material under this section. Any such rule adopted by the bureau shall provide for a prompt and fair adjudication concerning the return of the document or material within 15 days of the seizure.
Section 4. An emergency is declared for this act."
Renumber all SECTIONS consecutively.
