A RESOLUTION urging the establishment of an interim
study committee to study the issues relating to the treatment of
dogs at dog auctions and the issues relating to the sale of dogs
and cats to be used as food for other dogs.
Whereas, The treatment of dogs sold at auction has long
been an issue with animal rights proponents;
Whereas, Proper steps should be taken to ensure that
information is provided to determine what these animals will be
used for and how they will be treated;
Whereas, It is also necessary to provide all information necessary to determine if healthy animals are being bought and
sold for use as food for other animals; and
Whereas, The state of Indiana should ensure that all
animals are treated humanely and should study the conditions
under which they are sold: Therefore,
