    A RESOLUTION urging the establishment of an interim study committee on charity gaming.

    Whereas, Charity gaming is an important source of revenue for qualified non-profit organizations, and

    Whereas, Activities such as bingo events, charity game nights, door prize events, raffle events, charity game nights ad festivals are examples of charity gaming, and

    Whereas, In the interest of providing safeguards for the public, it is important to provide some regulation as to the number of charity gaming events held by qualified organizations and the distribution of revenues from the charity gaming events:

Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Legislative Council is urged to establish a committee to study the issues relating to charitable gaming.

    SECTION 2. That the committee, if established, shall operate under the direction of the Legislative Council and issue a final report when directed to do so by the Council.
