MR. SPEAKER:

    I move that House Bill 1003 be amended to read as follows:

SOURCE: Page 37, line 20; (05)MO100304.37. -->     Page 37, between lines 20 and 21, begin a new paragraph and insert:
    " Sec. 8. (a) The definitions in IC 3-5-2 apply to this section to the extent they do not conflict with the definitions in this article.
    (b) As used in this section, "candidate" refers to any of the following:
        (1) A candidate for a state office.
        (2) A candidate for a legislative office.
        (3) A candidate for a local office.
    (c) As used in this section, "committee" refers to any of the following:
        (1) A candidate's committee for a candidate described in subsection (b).
        (2) A state or local committee of a political party.
        (3) A committee organized by a legislative caucus of the house of the general assembly.
        (4) A committee organized by a legislative caucus of the senate of the general assembly.
    (d) An individual appointed to the board or to the advisory committee established by IC 5-28-5-6 may not make any of the following during the member's service on the board or advisory committee:
        (1) A contribution of more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250) to the governor or a candidate for governor during any four (4) year period following the election of a governor.
        (2) Total contributions of more than five hundred dollars

($500) to all candidates and committees, in total, during the two (2) years following a general election.
    (e) A person who knowingly or intentionally violates this section commits a Class D felony.
".
    Page 193, between lines 1 and 2, begin a new paragraph and insert:

SOURCE: ; (05)MO100304.135. -->     "SECTION 135. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] IC 5-28-4-8, as added by this act, applies only to contributions made after the effective date of this act.".
    Renumber all SECTIONS consecutively.
