        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Jeff Rudkin and his students at Batchelor Middle School.

    Whereas, Jeff Rudkin and his group of budding cinematographers have received numerous awards and recognition for their outstanding work with B-TV;

    Whereas, B-TV has had 28 winning projects in the Association for Educational Communications and Technology International Student Media Festival in the last four years - 23 at the middle school level, four at the high school level, and one at the elementary school level and has won three Best of Festival Awards;

    Whereas, In November B-TV had two films selected for screening at the prestigious International Student Film Festival in Hollywood: "Reflections - A Tribute to Jill Behrman" produced by Bloomington South High School students who were alumni of B-TV and "Evil Exposed - The Tragedy of the Holocaust";

    Whereas, Only 132 projects were selected from the 300 entries submitted to the International Student Film Festival, many of them from top film schools such as UCLA, USC, and the New York Film Academy;

    Whereas, Only 23 projects won awards, with B-TV's "Evil Exposed - The Tragedy of the Holocaust" winning the Best High School Documentary Award even though it was produced by middle school students;

    Whereas, In recognition of its fine work, B-TV was officially selected as a member of the press corps for the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz ceremony by the Polish government in January;

    Whereas, B-TV students have won three prestigious Telly Awards, one Communicator Award, one Videographer Award, and numerous awards in the Windsong Film Festival, have been featured twice in AECT's TechTrends Technology Journal, and have been featured as the Classroom in the Spotlight on MacroSystems' web site; and

    Whereas, These talented young people are not resting on their laurels; they have set their future goals even higher: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Jeff Rudkin and his talented students and encourages them to keep setting their goals high and reaching them.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to Jeff Rudkin.
