A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
natural and cultural resources.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 14-8-2-29.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
1, 2005]: Sec. 29.5. (a) "Bullet", for purposes of IC 14-22-10-1,
means a projectile that is expelled from the barrel of a firearm

SECTION 2. IC 14-22-10-1 IS AMENDED TO READ AS
FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2005]: Sec. 1. (a)
A person may not
knowingly or intentionally:
(1) fish, hunt, trap, or chase;
(2) shoot with any kind of firearm or archery equipment;
(3) search for or gather any plant life (defined as the members of
the kingdoms Fungi and Plantae); or
(4) search for or gather any artifacts (as defined in IC 14-21-1-2);
upon privately owned land without having the consent of the owner or
tenant of the land.
(b) A person may not knowingly or intentionally attempt to take
a game or furbearing animal:
(1) in a manner that results in a bullet, an arrow, or another
projectile passing within two hundred (200) yards of an
inhabited residence; and
(2) without having the consent of the owner or tenant of the
