        A RESOLUTION honoring Alecia Johnson.

    Whereas, Alecia Johnson has been the commander of American Legion Women's Post #438 in Indianapolis for eight years;

    Whereas, During her time as commander, membership is at an all-time high and several programs have been instituted that enhance the quality of life for American Legion members;

    Whereas, Alecia Johnson has been instrumental in developing programs to aid the families of Legionnaires with funeral preparations, coordinating an annual Memorial Day flag ceremony with the mayor of Southport and the Southport Police Department honoring the Civil War veterans at

Southport Cemetery, coordinating and officiating the annual Korean War commemorative ceremony, and adopting the 138th Personnel Services Battalion stationed in Iraq and providing members with food, hygiene supplies, and educational materials; and

    Whereas, Alecia Johnson is a true humanitarian and community leader who has devoted countless hours of time helping the membership of American Legion Post #438, members' families, her community, and her state: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives wishes to express its gratitude to Alecia Johnson for her dedication to the members of American Legion Post #438 and the citizens of the state of Indiana.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Alecia Johnson, commander of American Legion Women's Post #438.
