Synopsis: Indiana time zones. Petitions the United States Department
of Transportation to initiate proceedings under the federal Uniform
Time Act to locate all of Indiana in the Central Time Zone except for
Clark County, Dearborn County, Floyd County, Harrison County, and
Ohio County.

A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning Indiana time zones.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE] (a) The general
assembly hereby petitions the United States Department of
Transportation to initiate proceedings under the Uniform Time Act
of 1966 to locate all of Indiana, except the counties named in
subsection (b), in the Central Time Zone.
(b) The general assembly advises the United States Department
of Transportation that the following Indiana counties should
remain in the Eastern Time Zone:
(1) Clark County.
(2) Dearborn County.
(3) Floyd County.
(4) Harrison County.
(5) Ohio County.
(c) The secretary of state shall transmit a copy of this act to the
Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation not
later than ten (10) days after this act is filed with the secretary of
state.
