    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 20-30-2-3; (07)IN0213.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 20-30-2-3, AS ADDED BY P.L.1-2005, SECTION 14, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007]: Sec. 3. (a) For each school year, the 2007-2008 school year, a school corporation shall conduct at least one hundred eighty (180) one hundred eighty-five (185) student instructional days, one (1) of which must be an additional day for staff professional development activities (as compared to the 2006-2007 school year). For the 2008-2009 school year, each school corporation shall conduct at least one hundred ninety (190) student instructional days, one (1) of which must be an additional day for staff professional development activities (as compared to the 2007-2008 school year). For the 2009-2010 school year, each school corporation shall conduct at least one hundred ninety-five (195) student instructional days, one (1) of which must be an additional day for staff professional development activities (as compared to the 2008-2009 school year). For the 2010-2011 school year and each school year after that, each school corporation shall conduct at least two

hundred (200) student instructional days, one (1) of which must be an additional day for staff professional development activities (as compared to the 2009-2010 school year).
    (b)
Not later than June 15 of each school year, the superintendent of each school corporation shall certify to the department the number of student instructional days conducted during that school year.
