A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning

SECTION 1. IC 9-24-5-0.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
AS A NEW
SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
1, 2007]: Sec. 0.5. (a) This section does not apply to an individual
who is the operator of a:
(1) school bus under IC 20-27-8-1(a)(6); or
(2) special purpose bus under IC 20-27-9-5(c)(1).
(b) An individual who operates intrastate for hire a motor
vehicle that is designed for the transportation of not more than
fourteen (14) passengers, exclusive of the driver, is not required to
hold a public passenger chauffeur's license.
