A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning Medicaid.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2008] (a) As used in this
SECTION, "office" refers to the office of Medicaid policy and
planning established by IC 12-8-6-1.
(b) The office or a managed care organization that has
contracted with the office to provide coverage for Medicaid
recipients shall reimburse a physician at:
(1) a rate of one hundred percent (100%) of rates payable
under the Medicaid fee structure; or
(2) a contractually agreed upon rate between the physician
and the managed care organization;
for professional emergency physician screening services provided
under current procedural terminology (CPT) codes 99281 through
(c) The office may adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to provide
reimbursement for screening services provided in an emergency
department of a hospital licensed under IC 16-21 that are not a
covered service as of January 1, 2008.
(d) This SECTION expires December 31, 2008.
