SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION to honor Senator Vic Heinold on his retirement from the Indiana General Assembly.

    Whereas, Senator Vic Heinold was elected to the Indiana Senate in 2004 to represent Senate District 5, including the Jasper, LaPorte, Marshall, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph, and Starke counties with dignity and distinction;

    Whereas, as a member of the Indiana General Assembly, Senator Heinold has been an active member of the Senate Committees on Agriculture & Small Business, Commerce & Transportation, Elections & Civic Affairs, and Homeland Security, Utilities & Public Policy;

    Whereas, Senator Heinold has also actively participated in numerous civic activities including, the Mid-America Agriculture Show, Indiana Grain & Feed, the Crime Stopper Advisory Board, the Governor's Commission on Child Support, Fathers United of Indiana, the Porter County Visitor Recreation & Tourism Board, the Porter County Animal Welfare Board, and the Parkview Haven Retirement Home Board;
    



    Whereas, Senator Heinold and his wife Sue have five children and are the proud grandparents of thirteen grandchildren. Senator Heinold and his family are active members of the Kouts Christian Church where he serves as a Sunday school teacher and team leader for their Live Nativity;

    Whereas, Senator Heinold has long been a distinguished resident of the Hoosier State. He was raised in Kouts, Indiana and graduated from Kouts High School. Thereafter, he attended Purdue University and was the primary proprietor of Heinold Elevator & Feed; and

    Whereas, upon completion of the legislative session, Senator Heinold will leave the Indiana Senate to relocate his family to Louisiana where he will become a general manager with Consolidated Grain and Barge Company. His departure will be a great loss to the State of Indiana: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

            

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate honors Senator Vic Heinold on his retirement from the Indiana General Assembly and wishes him good luck in all of his future endeavors.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Vic Heinold and his family.
