Synopsis: 911 call mischief. Makes it a Class A misdemeanor to make a 911 call in a manner that is offensively repetitive, that delays a response to an emergency, or that causes harm to a person or property.

Effective: July 1, 2008.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning criminal law and procedure.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 35-45-2-6; (08)IN1123.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 35-45-2-6 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2008]: Sec. 6. A person who knowingly or intentionally places a 911 call that:
        (1) does not concern an emergency; and
        (2) is:
            (A) made in an offensively repetitive manner;
            (B) a cause of a delay in response to an emergency; or
            (C) a cause of harm to a person or property;
commits 911 call mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.
