MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I move
that Bill 1172 be amended to read as follows:

SOURCE: IC 25-27.5-1-4; (08)MO117205.50. -->     "SECTION 50. IC 25-27.5-1-4 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2008]: Sec. 4. (a) Subject to IC 10-14-3.5, a physician assistant who is:
        (1) licensed under this article;
        (2) licensed or authorized to practice in any state (as defined in IC 10-14-3.5-13); or
        (3) credentialed as a physician assistant by a federal employer; and
who is responding to a need for medical care created under an emergency declaration (as defined in IC 10-14-3.5-3) may provide any care that the physician assistant is able to provide without supervision or with such supervision as is available.
    (b) A physician who supervises a physician assistant who provides medical care in response to an emergency declaration (as defined in IC 10-14-3.5-3) is not required to meet the requirements set forth in this article for a supervising physician.
