    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 25-23-1-20; (09)IN1053.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 25-23-1-20 IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2009]: Sec. 20. (a) Any institution which desires to conduct a nursing education program shall apply to the board and submit evidence that:
        (1) it is prepared to give a minimum curriculum of organized instruction and clinical experience in nursing in conformity to the provisions of this chapter and the rules of the board. Such instruction and experience may be secured in one (1) or more institutions or agencies approved by the board; and
        (2) it is prepared to meet other standards established by this chapter and by the board.
     (b) An institution that conducts a nursing education program may employ a registered nurse with a bachelor's degree in nursing to instruct nursing students on a part-time basis.
