    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Nicole Pollard, Miss Indiana 2009, upon her achievement of attaining the esteemed Top Fifteen Semifinalist Round at the 2010 Miss America Pageant.

    Whereas, Nicole Pollard competed as the Hoosier state's 69th Miss Indiana, having been crowned in the Village of Zionsville on June 27th, 2009; and
    
Whereas, Nicole presented "And this is my beloved" from the Broadway Musical Kismet during the preliminary talent competition; and

    Whereas, under the guidance and direction of Frank Ricketts and Aren Howell Straiger, Miss Indiana Co-Executive Directors, Nicole achieved a level of personal preparation previously unsurpassed; and

    Whereas, Nicole received interview training by the well-regarded interview preparation coaches: Jim Robbins and the late Joy Robbins, dedicated and passionate advocates of the Miss America Program; and

    Whereas, Nicole Pollard continues her year of service until June 26th 2010 when she crowns Miss Indiana 2010 in the Village of Zionsville; and


    Whereas, Nicole is the fifth Miss Indiana titleholder in eight years to achieve the Top Fifteen at the Miss America Competition; therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Nicole Pollard upon her achievement and service to the State of Indiana as a passionate advocate for the Awareness and Prevention of Eating Disorders.

    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the Indiana General Assembly transmit a copy of this resolution to Nicole Pollard and the Miss Indiana Organization for preservation and posterity.
