        A RESOLUTION honoring the Frontier High School Livestock Judging Team.
    

    Whereas, Participation on a livestock judging team gives young people the opportunity to learn the skill of livestock evaluation and to express their opinions through oral presentation;

    Whereas, Livestock judging team members learn to apply scientific principles of animal growth, evaluation, and selection to different types of animals and to analyze breeding and market classes of beef cattle, swine, and sheep;

    Whereas, On May 16, 2009, the Frontier Livestock Judging Team won the American Royal National contest held in Kansas

City, Missouri, where 29 teams from 17 states participated in the event;

    Whereas, The Frontier High School Livestock Judging Team placed first in swine judging, first in oral reasons, and fourth in beef judging;

    Whereas, Out of the 113 participating individuals, Carly Wesner placed second overall, first in oral reasons, and second in beef judging; Bailey Wesner placed fourth overall and third in swine judging; Amara Danner placed fifth overall, first in swine, and seventh in oral reasons; and

    Whereas, These competitions challenge the team members and determine what knowledge and communication skills have been acquired: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulate the Frontier High School Livestock Judging Team on winning the American Royal National contest and the members of the team for their individual showings.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the members of the Frontier High School Livestock Judging Team.
