    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Tabitha Geradot of the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers Girls Basketball Team on winning the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award.
    
    Whereas, Tabitha Geradot won the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award, following her team, the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers Girls Basketball Team, winning their third straight Class A State Championship;

    Whereas, The Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award is presented annually to a senior who was nominated by her principal and coach, and has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability;

    Whereas, The award is named in honor of the former IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association) assistant commissioner, Patricia L. Roy, who oversaw the girls basketball state tournament from its beginning in 1976 until her retirement in 1999;

    Whereas, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance will present a $1,000 scholarship to Canterbury High School in the name of Tabitha Geradot;

    Whereas, Tabitha is a member of the Cum Laude Society, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and the Canterbury Peer Tutoring Program;



    Whereas, Tabitha is active in her church youth group and has volunteered with the Women's Care Center and Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne. Most recently, she coordinated a donation program to assist Burmese refugees living in the Fort Wayne area;

    Whereas, Tabitha is ranked seventh in her class and has been named to the Headmaster's List every semester. She will attend Valparaiso University next fall and major in Foreign Language; and

    Whereas, Tabitha Geradot's Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award is an impressive achievement and worthy of praise: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly congratulates Tabitha Geradot of the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers Girls Basketball Team on winning the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Tabitha Geradot.
