SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Senator Bob Deig for serving as a State Senator representing District 49, and for his many contributions to the citizens of the State of Indiana.

    Whereas, Born and raised on his family's farm in Southwest Indiana, State Senator Bob Deig is a strong voice for Indiana's working families ;

    Whereas, Elected to the State Senate in November of 2006, Senator Deig previously served on the Posey County Commission and Posey County Council;

    Whereas, In the Senate, Senator Dieg serves as the ranking Democrat on the Commerce, Public Policy and Interstate Cooperation Committee. He is also a member of the Utilities and Technology; Pensions and Labor; and Agriculture and Small Business Committees ;

    Whereas, Senator Deig  has also been appointed to serve on the Labor and Economic Development Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures, a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the nation's

50 states, its commonwealths and territories;

    Whereas, An active leader of his community, Senator Deig is a member of the Association of Indiana Counties, the Southwestern Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Farm Bureau, National Association of Power Engineers, the International Facility Management Association, Sons of the American Legion, Sons of AMVETS, and the Evansville Athletic Club. He also belongs to St. Philip Catholic Church;

    Whereas, State Senator Bob Deig lives in Mount Vernon with his wife, Bambi. Together, they have three grown children and two grandchildren: Therefore,


Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate honors Senator Bob Deig for serving as a State Senator representing District 49, and for his many contributions to the citizens of the State of Indiana.
SECTION 2. That on behalf of the people of the State of Indiana, we hereby extend our sincere appreciation to Senator Bob Deig for his dedicated service in the Indiana State Senate and the Indiana General Assembly.
    SECTION 3. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to State Senator Bob Deig.
