HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Brooke Dorsett, 2010 500 Festival Queen.

    Whereas, Brooke Dorsett, the daughter of Gary and Karen Dorsett, was selected as the 2010 500 Festival Queen;

    Whereas, Brooke is a graduate of Indiana University and Bedford North Lawrence High School;

    Whereas, Brooke received her associate degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she majored in dental hygiene and public health;

    Whereas, With the $2,500 educational scholarship she received, Brooke may return to Indiana University School of Dentistry to pursue her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene;

    Whereas, Brooke Dorsett possesses the rare ability to work and smile through almost anything that comes her way, two traits that can be extremely helpful for a successful 500 Festival Queen;

    Whereas, Brooke Dorsett entered the competition to meet influential and interesting people and for the chance to act as an ambassador for the 500 Festival and the Indianapolis 500;

    Whereas, Involved in sports, including softball and basketball, throughout her childhood, Brooke Dorsett enjoyed the competitive edge involved in the pageant; and



    Whereas, Brooke Dorsett is an outstanding ambassador for the 500 Festival and the Indianapolis 500 who will leave a memorable impression on all she meets: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates Brooke Dorsett on her selection as the 2010 500 Festival Queen and wishes her well in all her future endeavors.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Brooke Dorsett.
