        A RESOLUTION memorializing James "Jim" Dressler.

    Whereas, James "Jim" Dressler died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the age of 75;

    Whereas, Jim Dressler spent more than half of his life in the newspaper world serving in many capacities, including political writer, staff writer, sports editor, managing editor, and editor;

    Whereas, During his career, he worked for several newspapers, including the New Albany Tribune, the Plainfield Messenger, the Dayton (Ohio) Journal-Herald, the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, and the Brazil Times;

    Whereas, Jim Dressler was a lifelong admirer of Indiana government;

    Whereas, Upon retirement, Jim spent ten years as a proofreader for the Indiana House of Representatives during sessions of the General Assembly;

    Whereas, Jim Dressler also left his mark on the citizens of Clay County;

    Whereas, Jim Dressler helped with many community projects throughout the years, including the restoration of the band shell in 1995; and

    Whereas, James "Jim" Dressler will be greatly missed: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives wishes to extend its condolences to the family of James "Jim" Dressler and to express its appreciation for his many contributions to the state of Indiana.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to the family of James "Jim" Dressler.
