Synopsis: Resident tuition for certain nonresident students. Allows the commission for higher education to authorize a regional campus of Indiana University or Purdue University that is located in a county adjacent to another state to charge resident tuition to certain residents of the adjacent state without the commission for higher education being required to enter into a reciprocal resident tuition agreement with the adjacent state.

Effective: July 1, 2011.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning higher education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

     Chapter 12. Regional Campuses in Boundary Counties
    Sec. 1. The commission may authorize a regional campus located in a boundary county to charge residents of another state adjacent to the boundary county the same tuition rate that the regional campus charges Indiana residents if the residents of the

other state reside in a county that is adjacent to Indiana.
    Sec. 2. Before granting an authorization under section 1 of this chapter, the commission is not required to enter into a reciprocal resident tuition agreement with the higher education authority in the state adjacent to the boundary county.
