SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail on 50 years and Troop 52 for maintaining it.

     Whereas, The Wabash Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America declared the Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail official on March 7, 1961;

    Whereas, Larry L. Ayers was a scout who passed away in 1957 at the age of 17. He walked an incredible 1,605 miles in rain, snow or sleet to attend his scout and explorer meetings;

    Whereas, The trail is located in Sullivan County and mostly follows alongside State Highway 48;

    Whereas, Troop 52 of Shelburn, Indiana, has long been the steward of the trail and, to this day, continues to do an outstanding job of maintaining the trail; and

    Whereas, The Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail's 50th anniversary is a momentous occasion, and Troop 52's consistently proficient maintenance of the trail is to be

commended: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate recognizes the Larry L. Ayers Memorial Trail on 50 years and Troop 52 for maintaining it.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to each member of Troop 52.
