SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing Lovilee Johnson on her retirement after serving the state of Indiana for 37 years.

     Whereas, Lovilee Johnson, PE 2753, Switchboard Operator V with the Indiana State Police, is retiring;

    Whereas, Lovilee was hired as a Clerk by the Indiana State Police on February 11, 1974;

    Whereas, In 1979, when District 22 moved from the old post on US 24 in the Times Corners Area to the current location on Ellison Road, Lovilee's request to become a Switchboard Operator was granted;

    Whereas, Lovilee consistently performs her duties in an exemplary manner. District 22 receives a tremendous amount of calls, sometimes from emotional or irate callers, yet Lovilee's cheerful personality, and her ability to remain calm and professional, has served her well in taking or routing calls to the proper station;

    Whereas, Lovilee always greets visitors with a smile and

a pleasant greeting. Her years of experience and her uplifting personality allow her to meet the daily challenges in a positive and professional manner;

    Whereas, On February 11, 2009, Lovilee was awarded with a certificate for completing 35 years of service with the Indiana State Police;

    Whereas, Lovilee's family includes her husband, Joe Johnson; her son, Michael Craig and his wife Dru; her daughter, Sandra Ridley; and her two grandchildren, Evan and Kennedy Craig; and

    Whereas, Lovilee Johnson has served the Indiana State Police commendably over her 37 years. Her experience, and most importantly, her peaceful, loving spirit will be greatly missed by the Indiana State Police, and Hoosiers everywhere: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate recognizes Lovilee Johnson on her retirement after serving the state of Indiana for 37 years.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Lovilee Johnson.
