    I move that Engrossed Senate Bill 286 be amended to read as follows:

    Delete the title and insert the following:
    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning family law and juvenile law and to make an appropriation.

SOURCE: ; (12)MO028628.72. -->     "SECTION 72. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012] (a) The definitions in P.L.229-2011, SECTION 1 apply throughout this SECTION.
    (b) As used in this SECTION, "department" means the department of child services.
    (c) Augmentation is allowed for the appropriation in P.L.229-2011, SECTION 8 to the department of child services, beginning July 1, 2012, and ending June 30, 2013.
The appropriation is augmented by one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the following purposes:
        (1) Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the use of the state child fatality review team to carry out its duties

under IC 31-33-25.
        (2) Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for carrying out the grant program established under subsection (d).
    (d) The department shall establish a grant program to assist regional child fatality review teams. A regional child fatality review team may apply for a grant in the manner prescribed by the department. The department shall record the time of filing of each application and shall, except as provided in subsection (e), award grants to regional child fatality review teams in the chronological order in which the applications were filed. The total amount awarded to a particular regional child fatality review team may not exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) per county included in the region served by the regional child fatality review team.
    (e) The total amount of the grants awarded under this SECTION may not exceed four hundred sixty thousand dollars ($460,000). The department may not approve an application filed after the maximum amount of grants has been awarded.
    (f) A regional child fatality review team may use a grant received under this SECTION for any lawful purpose of the regional child fatality review team.
    (g) This SECTION expires June 30, 2013.
