Synopsis: Threats against schools. Expands the offense of disorderly
conduct to include acts of a person who recklessly, knowingly, or
intentionally disrupts or interferes with the lawful activity of a school
by communicating certain threats relating to a person or property
within or associated with the school.
Effective: July 1, 2000.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
criminal law and procedure.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1.
IC 35-45-1-3
IS AMENDED TO READ AS
FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000]: Sec. 3. A person who
recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally:
(1) engages in fighting or in tumultuous conduct;
(2) makes unreasonable noise and continues to do so after being
asked to stop;
or
(3) disrupts a lawful assembly of persons;
or
(4) disrupts or significantly interferes with the lawful activity
of a school by communicating a threat to:
(A) inflict harm upon a person; or
(B) damage property;
within or associated with the school;
commits disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
