DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL

Use of mobile telephone in motor vehicle. Prohibits the operation of a motor vehicle and the simultaneous operation of a mobile telephone. Provides an exception to the prohibition for the operator of an authorized emergency vehicle, medical services vehicle, or a privately owned vehicle when the operator or passenger is a volunteer firefighter or a certified emergency medical provider en route to the scene of a fire or other emergency in the line of duty, subject to certain conditions.
