Synopsis: Medicaid waiver reimbursement rates. Requires the office of the secretary of family and social services to increase the rates paid for all services provided under Medicaid home and community based waivers by 8% for the period beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, an additional 6% for the period beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, and annually thereafter based on the increase in the skilled nursing facility wage index published by the federal Health Care Financing Administration.

HOUSE BILL No. 1867


    A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning Medicaid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: ; (01)IN1867.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2001] (a) As used in this SECTION, "office" refers to the office of the secretary of family and social services established by IC 12-8-1-1.
    (b) For the period beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, the office shall increase, over the rates in existence on January 1, 2001, by eight percent (8%) the rates paid for all services provided under the following Medicaid home and community based waivers:
        (1) ICF/MR waiver.
        (2) Aged and disabled waiver.
        (3) Medically fragile children's waiver.
        (4) Autism waiver.
        (5) Traumatic brain injury waiver.
    (c) For the period beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, the office shall increase, over the rates implemented under subsection (b), by six percent (6%) the rates paid for all services provided under the Medicaid home and community based waivers described in subsection (b).
    (d) For state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003, the office shall increase, over the rates in existence on January 1 of the previous state fiscal year, the rates paid for all services provided under the Medicaid home and community based waivers described in subsection (b) by the increase in the skilled nursing facility wage index published by the federal Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).
